If "FLOSS works" maintainers shouldn't be "facing severe burnout", I've come across two more in the past week alone:

FLOSS works because when maintainers need to leave the project doesn’t die.


This is more common in FLOSS then in corporate/closed source projects.

So your success criteria for ”FLOSS works” is that zero people involved in it experience stress related issues?


Do people doing non-FLOSS work not also sometimes face severe burnout?


Yes but those people aren't doing it as a hobby.


What’s your point, or are you just engaging in a conversation while completely ignoring the context?


Generally you wouldn't expect someone working on a hobby for free to experience burnout.
